QUESTION OF THE WEEK: WHAT DO YOU THINK OF KYLESA?
Banner Designed by Cysquatch Welcome to “Question of the Week,” a (sometimes) weekly debate amongst the MetalSucks staff regarding a recent hot button issue. As regular MetalSucks readers are no doubt aware, our own Vince Neilstein doesn’t really see what the big deal is about Kylesa, while our own Sammy O’Hagar thinks they’re the cat’s [...]

Video: Elvis Costello on ‘Fallon,’ ‘Letterman,’ ‘Colbert’ and ‘Morning Joe’ this week
[tweetmeme]You can’t say Elvis Costello isn’t trying to sell records: With his new album, National Ransom, now out, the singer-songwriter made the television rounds this past week, appearing and performing on the “Late Show With David Letterman,” “The Colbert Report,” “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon” and even Joe Scarborough’s cable talk show “Morning Joe.”
On each program, Costello played a song off the new album and, unlike most musical guests, also sat for an interview; in the case of “Morning Joe,” he even participated on a post-election round table with Tom Brokaw. During Thursday’s visit to “The Colbert Report,” Costello also sang a duet of the classic “Dream a Little Dream of Me” with Stephen Colbert (who, you’ll recall, sang Costello’s “Cheap Reward” for the under-the-weather singer during an appearance last year).
But Costello was most active on last night’s “Late Night,” not only singing “Stations of the Cross” for broadcast and sitting for an interview with Jimmy Fallon, but also participating in a bit in which he composed a song about an audience member on the spot and — in what’s probably the highlight of the week for longtime fans — played an exclusive web-only version of “Black & White World,” off 1980’s Get Happy!!, with The Roots as his backing band. That’s posted above, and the rest of the Week in Costello is below.
