Still, the RIAA continues doing hateful shit like pushing bad legislation, pressuring Google to stop doing what it does, maintaining misguided monopolistic middle-men like SoundExchange to ensure that most revenues get funneled to them and not to artists, and stomping on legitimate businesses they don’t like…but the tide is clearly turning against them. It was the most encouraging music/tech conference I’ve been to yet — as you’ve read here many times before, the music industry is fine and dandy, it’s the paleolithic recorded music industry that’s in trouble.
