Best New Releases for Week of March 13 – The Ting Tings, Tiger! Tiger!, Tribes, The Decemberists, Drowner, Freshkills, Say Anything

With the kick-off of SXSW, it’s no big surprise that it is a thin week for new releases. That said, there is still a good collection of new singles from just dropped albums to pick from, including the lead track from The Ting Tings’ follow-up to their acclaimed debut; Atlanta’s Tiger! Tiger!, plus, Freshkills, Say [...]

“480 Minutes”

My promise to you: no technical difficulties this week.  I promise, or your money back.  Not much of a risk there, granted, since listening is free, but hey…it’s better than Kirk Cameron.
Anyway…hello and welcome 480 Minutes, the weekly marathon live radio show hosted by BAGeL Radio Music Director Ted Leibowitz this and every Friday from 9a.m. until 5p.m. Pacific Time.
We are excited to have tickets to give away for the Hugh Cornwell, Clem Burke, and Glen Matlock show at the Red Devil Lounge next Friday.  Hugh was the singer for The Stranglers, and backing him on drums is Clem from Blondie (and he was also briefly a member of the Ramones under the name Elvis Ramone), followed by a set by Glen who was the bassist of the Sex Pistols before Sid Vicious, then formed The Rich Kids, then played with Iggy Pop).  Come on out and join me, we can drink too much and pretend we’re in Austin with the cool kids at SXSW!
Today’s show will feature new tunes by Andrew Bird (Chicago, IL), Ava Luna (Brooklyn, NY), Ceremony (Rohnert Park, CA), Fanfarlo (London, England), Jagwar Ma (Sydney, Australia), Kaiser Chiefs (Leeds, England), Kishi Bashi (New York, NY), Lost In The Trees (Chapel Hill, NC), Summer Twins (Riverside, CA), Trust (Toronto, Canada), and White Rabbits (New York, NY).  Please get in touch during the show:
